PELARGONIUM NOTES
Stems succulent, often stout and knobby, sometimes tuberous. Petioles or peduncles sometimes persistent. Leaves sometimes fleshy, entire, shallowly lobed, pinnately or bipinnately compound, deciduous, sometimes glaucous. Stipules small. Petals subequal, white, sometimes greenish, yellowish or pinkish, the posterior ones sometimes eared at base, hence the name. Flowers not scented, hypanthium always shorter than pedicel. Five fertile stamens, sometimes equal, staminodes shorter and almost equal. Inflorescence sometimes branched. This section is currently under revision, see publications of Becker M.
